Microlight
flying has a great deal to offer the adventurous sports enthusiast!
Microlights
have been flown all the way around the world, and climbed to record
breaking altitudes of over 25,000 feet!
While many pilots are content to fly locally, others prefer the
challenge of longer distance navigation, and flying microlights across
Europe in the summer is now a common activity.
A microlight is defined as an aircraft with no more
than two seats, a take off weight which must not exceed 450 Kg and a
wing loading of not more than 25
Kg/sq m or stalling speed not greater than 35 kts (40 mph).
Typical modern flexwing
microlights are performance
machines which fly at around 60 mph, with the very latest models now
capable of cruising at speed of 80 mph or more! In other countries
these machines
are used for a variety of commercial work such as crop spraying and
aerial photography etc. but in
the UK their use is more restricted and they are principally designed
and used for pleasure flying.
So that
brings us to the crucial question, have you
ever wanted to
try flying one?
Well it has never been
easier to arrange. You can now experience
the thrill of piloting a modern Flexwing Microlight on your very first
flight. Interested? What should you do next? If you are keen on the
idea of learning to fly, or you would just like to
experience the
thrill of a microlight flight as a passenger, then probably your best
bet is to get in touch with J.T.Airsports to discuss
booking a twenty
minute "Air Experience Flight" or a "First Lesson" of approximately an
hour.
